How does reflector work?
The reflector consists of countless prisms on its backside. Each prism looks like a box corner, it has three mirror grade faces with a certain angle to enable to reflect the entry light. And if you see an array of prisms from the top it looks like numerous hexagonal patterns.
The prisms on the backside are made of 3 surfaces with certain angles such as box-corners. Light enters the reflector from the flat surface of the reflector, then the light reflects throughout those 3 surfaces, and most of the light exits the same direction as it came in.
How are the prisms formed?
The prisms on the backside of the reflector have duplicated the structure of the mold insert when injection molding. The prism pattern will be opposite to the pattern on the mold insert. The quality and roughness of the mold insert determine the photometric performance of the reflector.
